Wheel Fun Rentals has offered free rental use to over 1,000 Big Brothers Big Sisters matches and the numbers keep growing. The company is the number one recreational rental franchise in the US, utilizing fleets of unique bikes – including multi-passenger Surrey cycles – pedal boats, canoes, and more.

Launched in 2008, its “Biking Buddies” Program for Big Brothers Big Sisters entitles Big Brothers and Big Sisters to bring their Little Brothers and Sisters to Wheel Fun Rentals, where they receive FREE RENTALS to enjoy together. The program is active locally at either of the Wheel Fun Rentals’ two Santa Barbara outlets.

San Diego County Big Brothers Big Sisters President/CEO Paul Palmer thanked Wheel Fun Rentals “for the very generous donation of unlimited use for matches. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and support of the families we serve. Your contribution is a significant help and we truly are grateful for the assistance.”

“The best thing about this program is that it is UNLIMITED! The program can be utilized whenever the ‘Big’ and ‘Little’ spend time together; it’s not a one time deal” said owner operator Reggie Drew. “This program will ensure that the Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers always have something fun, fit and FREE to do with the children that they mentor” said Al Stonehouse, President of Wheel Fun Rentals.

Jenny Peck, Enrollment and Match Specialist in the San Francisco Bay Area stated “Thanks so much, we are so grateful for the company’s generosity and support for this program!! We very much appreciate this fun opportunity! We are looking forward to our next trip and I will most definitely recommend Wheel Fun Rentals to anyone!”

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a community based program that matches children from ages six through eighteen with an adult volunteer, in the hopes of making an impact in the child’s life. These children usually come from single-parent homes; with a number of them having incarcerated parents and some coming from foster and group homes. These children need support; someone who will mentor and spend time with them is invaluable. By being part of the program, these children are matched with a person who cares and who wants to help, as they turn “Little Moments into Big Magic”. Research on Big Brothers Big Sisters’ volunteer programs points to the powerful, positive, lasting impact Bigs have on children’s lives. Littles are: 52% less likely to skip school, 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs and more likely to get along with their families and peers. This gift of time is priceless to a child who is in need of an additional role model and can make the difference between a child following negative influences

or succeeding in life.

Drew added, “This is a great way to show some of this region’s most dedicated volunteers, that the things they do are appreciated, while creating a fun filled day for them to enjoy with their “Little”. Wheel Fun Rentals is both honored and proud to be able to give to this wonderful organization, helping to improve the lives of young people throughout Santa Barbara County.”
